Steph Curry led the United States to a 98-87 victory over France in the men’s basketball gold medal game at the Olympics. The Americans capitalized on French turnovers and misses, scoring plenty of fast-break points. Curry scored 24 points, with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and LeBron James also contributing to the win. Curry’s late-game heroics, including four 3-pointers in the final minutes, sealed the victory for the U.S. Coach Steve Kerr praised Curry’s performance as one of his finest hours. The win also made Curry a member of a select group of players who have won an NBA championship, MVP award, finals MVP, and Olympic gold medal. Despite the pressure to win gold, Kerr commended the team’s unselfishness and ability to handle the expectations. In the bronze medal game, Nikola Jokic led Serbia to a 93-83 victory over Germany with a triple double. The French crowd at Bercy Arena warmly cheered for their team, which received silver medals, and even sang the national anthem together.
