Human Remains Discovered on Michigan Property of Husband Accused of Murdering Wife and Causing Disappearance

Human remains were found on the property of Dale Warner, the husband of Dee Ann Warner, a Michigan woman who went missing in 2021. The search, authorized by a judge, took place in Lenawee County as part of the investigation. The remains have not been identified, and further testing is needed before a positive identification can be made. The family of Dee Ann Warner has been informed of the discovery.

Dale Warner was charged with open murder and tampering last year in connection with his wife’s disappearance. He pleaded not guilty, but there was enough evidence for a trial to proceed. Authorities struggled with the case due to the lack of a body. The couple lived in Tipton, Michigan, and Dee Ann Warner, a mother of five, ran a trucking and farming business. She was reported missing by her adult children in April 2021, the day Dale Warner claimed to last see her.

According to Lenawee County Sheriff Troy Bevier, the night Dee Ann Warner vanished, there was a business dispute involving her, Dale Warner, and one or two of her employees. Her brother, Gregg Hardy, expressed the family’s emotional turmoil over her disappearance and Dale Warner’s arrest. Despite the disbelief, the family is focused on seeking justice for Dee Ann. Dale and Dee Ann had been married for 15 years. Dennis Romero from NBC News reported on the investigation, with contributions from Veronica Fulton.
