US military intervention in the Middle East does not serve to improve the safety of Israel in the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Iran launched a massive aerial attack on Israel on October 1 in retaliation for the assassinations of senior Hezbollah and Hamas leaders and some Iranian officers in Beirut and Tehran. The United States expanded its military presence in the Middle East to help defend Israel from the attack. However, US military interventions have made Israel more vulnerable and dependent on American military power, resulting in a cycle of violence and perpetuating the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The US spends billions on military operations in the Middle East, including intercepting projectiles from Iran and backing Israel. Washington’s strong support for Israel is fueled by economic interests, political factors, and historical ties dating back to the Cold War. President Joe Biden, a self-proclaimed Zionist, continues to advocate for Israel due to his political benefits and personal beliefs.

US media plays a role in shaping public opinion in favor of Israel and ignoring Palestinian realities. Arab public opinion calls for Palestinian statehood as a crucial step towards regional peace. Investing in true peace efforts through negotiations based on equal rights for all parties is seen as the best way to ensure Israel’s security and achieve lasting peace in the region.

As conflicts continue to flare in the Middle East, addressing the root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian and US-Iranian conflicts through peaceful negotiations is crucial. This approach would be more equitable, less expensive, and less destructive than perpetuating the current cycle of military intervention. Ultimately, genuine efforts towards peace are necessary to end the ongoing conflict in the region.
