Jose Leon, a 34-year-old man, is encouraging people to get outside and enjoy nature with the launch of his business, Flying Bike, in Idaho Falls. The seasonal business offers 10 traditional bikes for rent in front of Rush’s Kitchen Supply at 345 Lindsay Boulevard. Customers can rent bikes online 24/7 through the On Bike Share app. Leon is planning a grand opening in mid-April for the 2025 season and is excited for the business’s second year of operation.
Leon, who works full-time in the retail industry, has had the idea for Flying Bike since he was a kid. He noticed similar services in other cities and believed Idaho Falls could benefit from such a service. He sees it as a unique way for the community to enjoy the outdoors and easily move around town. With hopes of expanding, Leon is considering opening additional locations in Idaho Falls and other cities, such as Pocatello and Rexburg, where there is a high percentage of college students.
Leon is grateful to Rush’s Kitchen Supply and other businesses for allowing him to use their parking lot for bike rentals. He encourages people to come out and enjoy the bikes, and if they encounter any issues, they can reach out to Flying Bike through the app. As the weather warms up, Flying Bike provides a convenient and fun way for people to explore Idaho Falls and beyond.
