In a stunning revelation, Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk claimed that millions of noncitizens have received social security numbers from the federal government. During an address in Wisconsin, Musk displayed a chart showing over 2 million noncitizens had received social security numbers in fiscal year 2024 and nearly one million in fiscal year 2025. Musk’s colleague Antonio Gracias stated that they discovered this by accident while investigating fraud and emphasized that their findings were not politically motivated, as both his and Musk’s parents are immigrants.
Gracias went on to explain that they observed border patrol agents allowing noncitizens to enter the country, receiving notices to appear before an immigration judge with years-long waitlists. Musk accused the previous Biden administration of intentionally importing illegal immigrants to change the voting map of the United States and disenfranchise American citizens.
DOGE continues to investigate the Social Security Administration (SSA), with their most recent audit resulting in the removal of 7 million accounts belonging to individuals listed as over 120 years old. Musk’s address in Wisconsin took place before a crucial state Supreme Court election, where he also awarded two million-dollar checks to audience members who supported his political action committee’s petition. Wisconsin’s Democratic attorney general attempted to block Musk’s giveaway, arguing it violated voting laws, but was unsuccessful.
