Idaho Track and Field recently announced its final signee for the 2024 class, Ivy Smith from Sandpoint, Idaho. Smith is a two-time state champion in shot put and discus and has consistently placed in the top 10 in the state over the past four years. With personal best performances of 44′ 7″ in shot put and 122′ 4″ in discus, Smith brings a strong athletic ability to the Vandals team.
Not only successful on the field, Smith has also excelled in the classroom, earning high honors and a top scholar award. In addition to her achievements in track and field, Smith has earned a State Finalist medal in acting and was part of the state academic champion team in 2023.
Smith was drawn to the University of Idaho program for its academic offerings and the sense of belonging within the Track and Field team. She plans to study physical therapy with the ultimate goal of obtaining a degree in athletic training.
With Smith’s impressive track record and commitment to both athletics and academics, she is sure to be a valuable asset to the Idaho Vandals Track and Field team. As the newest member of the 2024 signee class, Smith brings a combination of talent, dedication, and leadership that will help propel the Vandals to success in the upcoming seasons.
