Luke Carl Plesner, a 42-year-old man from Bonneville County, was arrested on charges of felony trafficking fentanyl, felony destruction of evidence, and a misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Plesner was allegedly found trying to hide a bag of “dirty 30s” in his rear and disposing of the evidence in an attempt to conceal it.
The arrest took place after an officer with the Idaho Falls Police Department initiated a traffic stop on April 4 and noticed suspicious behavior from Plesner, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Plesner was seen making movements consistent with concealing or destroying evidence, prompting the officer to intervene.
During the stop, Plesner was observed with his hand down his pants, and a strong smell of fecal matter was noticed. After being removed from the vehicle, Plesner was found to have hidden a baggie containing fentanyl in his anal cavity. Despite attempting to destroy the pills, police were able to recover a total of 111 pills weighing 11.3 grams, which tested positive for fentanyl.
Plesner is facing serious charges that could result in a lengthy prison sentence if convicted. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 18 in front of Magistrate Judges John Dewey and Mark Rammell. It is important to note that while Plesner has been charged with these crimes, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
