Idaho prosecutors have revealed a selfie photo of Bryan Kohberger that was taken just hours after he allegedly committed a home invasion massacre, stabbing four college students to death. The photo shows Kohberger giving a thumbs up in front of a shower and wearing earphones taken roughly an hour after police allege his phone pinged a cell tower near the crime scene. The prosecution aims to introduce this photograph as evidence in the upcoming trial.
Kohberger’s defense team has requested to block a surviving roommate from testifying about the intruder she saw, describing him as having “bushy eyebrows.” The defense denies that Kohberger fits this description. The witness froze in shock when the intruder came within three feet of her and later tried to reach her murdered friends.
Prosecutors have also provided a photo of Kohberger’s driver’s license to support the witness’s description of him as being around 6 feet tall. The witness described the intruder as wearing dark clothes with a ski-mask style face covering.
Kohberger was arrested after DNA allegedly linked him to a knife sheath found under one of the victim’s bodies. His Amazon shopping records indicate that he had purchased a similar knife earlier in the year. The trial is set to begin on August 11, with Kohberger facing first-degree murder and burglary charges, potentially facing the death penalty if convicted.
