Cody A. Balmer, 38, has been charged with multiple offenses after allegedly starting a fire at Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s home over the weekend. Prosecutors revealed that Balmer climbed the residence’s fence, broke a window with a hammer, and threw Molotov Cocktails inside to start the blaze. The charges against him include attempted criminal homicide, aggravated arson, burglary, terrorism, and other counts. Gov. Shapiro and his family were inside the home at the time of the attack, but thankfully no one was injured. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, but there was substantial damage to the residence. Balmer’s motive for the attack has not been revealed. The incident is being investigated by the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office.
