The North Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame Awards recently honored local sports talent, with the Logos Knights track team receiving the 2024 Female Team of the Year award. Coach Gwen Spencer was also recognized as Female Team Coach of the Year, while graduate Sara Casebolt was named North Idaho High School Girls Track Athlete of the Year. In the college division, Alton Hamilton, a standout player in LC basketball, was named Male Athlete of the Year for his remarkable season that earned him various accolades, including NAIA and NABC All-America honors.
The L-C women’s basketball team and their coach, Caelyn Orlandi, were nominated for Female Team of the Year and Women’s Coach, respectively. Mike Collins, the cross country and field coach, was a finalist for Men’s Coach of the Year. The University of Idaho football team was named Team of the Year, with players Keyshawn James and Tommy McCormick receiving recognition as Male College Athletes of the Year.
Vandal swimming’s Ginger Kiefer shared the title of Female College Athlete of the Year after a standout season that included multiple titles and record-breaking times. Former volleyball coach Debbie Buchanan and former Vandal football player turned NFL lineman Mike Lupotti were also inducted into the Hall of Fame. The event celebrated the achievements of these outstanding athletes and coaches in the North Idaho sports community.
