Three North Idaho high school athletes were honored at the 62nd North Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame Awards Banquet, held at The Coeur d’Alene Resort. Pepper Rickert of Sandpoint High was named the Girls Tennis Athlete of the Year for 2024, after winning the state 4A title and leading her team to their first state tennis title. Lilliana Brinkmeier, also from Sandpoint High, was named the Girls Soccer Co-Athlete of the Year for 2024, while Palmer Coleman of Priest River High was named the Boys Golf Athlete of the Year. The event also honored athletes, teams, and coaches from 29 high schools and three colleges in North Idaho.
In addition to the individual awards, the event also featured the induction of five new members into the North Idaho Hall of Fame. The evening also saw the announcement of the fifth annual Hagadone High Character Award winners, honoring student-athletes who excel in academics, sportsmanship, and community involvement.
