Hillcrest High School in Ammon celebrated its 10-3 run to a 5A State Football Championship with a banner unveiling before a varsity basketball game against Idaho Falls. Many football players were in attendance as fans gave the team its due respect. The Knights, with championship aspirations on the court, defeated Idaho Falls 83-51. Several championship-winning football players, including Tyson Sweetwood, Titan Larsen, and Mason Saunders, also compete in basketball. 5A football All-Idaho Player of the Year Tyson Sweetwood is a star on the court, playing forward for the basketball team. The win ended a slide of back-to-back losses against in-state opponents for Hillcrest, currently fourth in the 5A High Country Conference standings and ranked third in the state by media polls.
