Two Caldwell residents, Michael Paul Lacasse and Venetia Dawn Trischan, have been sentenced to federal prison for distributing illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. The couple operated an illicit enterprise where they took drug orders from customers via a menu of controlled substances and obtained the drugs in California and Washington. Lacasse would transport the drugs back to Idaho hidden in his truck’s engine, while Trischan would weigh and package them, keeping a ledger of transactions.
A search of their residence uncovered firearms, ammunition, a drug ledger, and $21,000 in cash. A subsequent search of a storage unit revealed more firearms, ammo, and pounds of narcotics. The DOJ stated that Lacasse and Trischan intended to distribute significant amounts of methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine.
Lacasse was sentenced to 133 months in prison, and Trischan was sentenced to 96 months. The DOJ commended the Meridian Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their efforts in bringing these criminals to justice. The arrests demonstrate the ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug distribution in Idaho and protect communities from the dangers associated with such activities.
