Former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson arrested for DWI

Former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was arrested early Friday morning on a misdemeanor drunken driving charge. Peterson was pulled over for speeding and had a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.14. He posted a $4,000 bond and was released. The arrest occurred after Peterson attended the Vikings’ NFL draft party the night before. Peterson, a highly decorated player in Vikings history, was selected in the 2007 NFL draft and spent 10 seasons with the team. However, his time with the Vikings was marred by off-field troubles, including multiple traffic violations and a 2014 incident where he pleaded no contest to reckless assault for striking his son with a switch. After playing for multiple teams in his final five seasons, Peterson retired in 2021. His next court date is scheduled for May 9.
