General Manager Joey Docksey guided us through an impressive array of dishes, starting with the Diablo sushi roll—spicy tuna, habanero cream cheese, and avocado, capped with salmon and jalapeños. Docksey notes, “It’s named that because it does have a little bit of a kick,” and indeed, the flavors create a perfect harmony for spice lovers and sushi aficionados alike.
Next on the tasting menu was the lemon caper mahi-mahi, featuring an 8-ounce chargrilled fish topped with a secret lemon caper sauce and a medley of fresh greens. Docksey, who personally recommends this dish, emphasizes its balanced flavors that cleanse the palate beautifully.
The culinary adventure continued with the wagyu burger—a succulent creation enhanced by thick-cut bacon and homemade fry sauce. Docksey believes that using wagyu elevates the overall quality of the meal, and patrons are likely to agree, as the burger is juicy enough to be enjoyed even without toppings.
Lastly, we sampled the innovative “vampire tacos.” Wrapped in cheese crisps and topped with avocado crema and chipotle aioli, these tacos are described as “scary good,” and truly deliver on flavor, thanks to well-seasoned chicken and fresh toppings.
