Idaho Vandals Women’s Basketball Welcomes Katlin Kangur
Moscow, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals Women’s Basketball Team has announced the signing of Katlin Kangur, a promising 5’7" point guard from Estonia. Head Coach Arthur Moreira revealed the news on Saturday, marking a significant addition to the team’s roster as Kangur steps in as a true freshman.
Kangur has been honing her skills in the Women’s Basketball League (WBBL), competing with professional teams across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Most recently, she played for TSA/CITYTEED Tallinn, leading her team to a senior league championship and ranking first in the league with an impressive 5.8 assists per game. She also contributed 8.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest.
In addition to her club success, Kangur has represented the Estonian senior national team since 2023. Notably, she was a starting player for Estonia during a historic victory against Denmark last November, a game that marked the nation’s first win over Denmark, a team composed of five former NCAA Division I all-conference players. Kangur also excelled with the U-18 Estonian squad, finishing second in assists at the European championships.
Coach Moreira expressed enthusiasm for Kangur’s addition, stating, "Katlin is the floor general we were missing. Her IQ is very high, and she is an amazing passer. She is way more mature and college-ready as a basketball player than a typical freshman, having played against pros since she was 15."
