Idaho Falls Farmers Market Opens for Vibrant Season
IDAHO FALLS — The much-anticipated Idaho Falls Farmers Market returns this Saturday, May 3, at 600 Memorial Drive, running every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. until October 25. Expanding to six blocks and featuring 173 vendors—up from 141 last year—the market promises a richer experience filled with local flavors, artisan goods, and entertainment.
Market Manager Clark Poston emphasized this year’s theme, “Bringing Unity to the Community," highlighting the market as a hub for positivity and connection among friends and families. The opening day will feature live music performances by local talents Kaylee Lee and Keagan Park from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The market attracts between 8,000 to 12,000 visitors weekly, providing a vital space for fresh and healthy food access. “We encourage those using SNAP and EBT benefits to visit our information booth for assistance,” Poston stated, reinforcing their commitment to inclusivity.
Poston also acknowledged the Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation Department for their crucial support in preparing the market site every week, appreciating their behind-the-scenes efforts that keep the market running smoothly.
Looking ahead, the season promises special events, including a farmers market night at the Idaho Falls Chukars baseball game on May 30. Plans are in motion for an indoor winter market, ensuring that the community can enjoy local goods year-round.
