Idaho Volleyball Welcomes New Assistant Coach Maria Jacobus
Moscow, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals volleyball program is set for an exciting transformation with the recent hiring of Maria Jacobus as an assistant coach. Head coach Romana Redondo Kriskova announced the addition, alleviating a substantial workload that previously required her and assistant Ben Kasun to manage the entire team independently.
Jacobus, who coached at Wenatchee Valley College, brings a proven record of success. Under her leadership from 2020 to 2022, the Knights experienced a remarkable turnaround, jumping from just four wins in her inaugural season to 22 victories in subsequent years and establishing themselves as regular playoff contenders. Her extensive experience at the junior college level has heightened expectations for the Vandals.
"We are very thrilled to have Maria join the Vandal volleyball program," Redondo Kriskova commented. "Her contagious energy and enthusiasm will be tremendous. Maria’s values align with ours, and we believe she will be a fantastic asset in recruiting and positional coaching."
Jacobus expressed her excitement about joining the Vandals, stating, "It has been a dream of mine to coach at a high level since I was young. I’m looking forward to collaborating with Coach Romana, Ben, and the entire team to create an amazing culture and legacy that will be remembered for years."
With the addition of Jacobus, the Vandals aim to bolster their competitiveness and foster a thriving environment for both players and staff. Fans and supporters can expect a new era for Idaho volleyball, with the commitment to excellence at the forefront.
