Mobile Metal Polishing Business Shines Bright in Eastern Idaho
BLACKFOOT, ID – Ryan Thatcher is finding success with his mobile metal polishing venture, bringing sparkle to everything from semi-trucks to YETI cups. Operating under the name Metal Mobile Polishing, Thatcher loves his "dirty" job, and believes it’s rewarding to see dull surfaces transformed into brilliant finishes.
Working with both a Makita 6,000-rpm grinder and a Dewalt variable-speed polishing grinder, Thatcher’s dedication is evident. "You can bring a lot of things back (to their original shine) with a little bit of elbow grease," he notes, emphasizing his passion for meeting customers wherever they are to provide top-notch service.
Thatcher’s journey began in 2016 when he worked with his brother at a similar company. Two years ago, he branched out on his own and has tackled a variety of challenging projects, including diamond plate steel truck beds and Airstream trailers. One of his standout assignments was polishing parts of a World War II-era P-51 Mustang, a testament to his skill and commitment to preserving history.
What sets Thatcher apart in the industry is his mobile service, which allows him to reach customers directly. He aims to expand his operations, possibly establishing a base in Idaho Falls for greater accessibility and efficiency.
