Idaho Vandals Shine in Big Sky Conference Winter All-Academic Teams
Moscow, Idaho – The Big Sky Conference has released its Winter All-Academic teams, highlighting academic excellence among student-athletes across men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and indoor track and field. A total of 546 athletes were recognized, with an impressive 84 achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA.
The University of Idaho placed a significant 46 athletes on the All-Academic list, underscoring its commitment to academic achievement. Men’s basketball contributed four honorees, while the women’s basketball team had eight. The indoor track and field teams saw 34 athletes earning All-Academic status, split evenly between men and women.
To be eligible for the All-Academic teams, student-athletes must participate in at least half of their team’s competitions, maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2, and have completed one academic term at their current Big Sky institution.
Among the honorees from the Idaho Vandals, notable names include Jojo Anderson (General Studies), Isaiah Brickner (Psychology), and Olivia Nelson (Chemistry) from women’s basketball. The track and field teams showcased a diverse array of majors, with athletes like Sam Fulbright (Natural Resources) and Amanda Munoz (Marketing) standing out.
The recognition reflects the Vandals’ dedication not only to athletics but also to educational excellence. As the academic season progresses, the University of Idaho continues to foster a culture that values both sports and scholarship.
