Flock Cancer Street Stroll Unites Community in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness

BOISE, Idaho — The fifth annual Flock Cancer Street Stroll drew hundreds of community members on Saturday, celebrating local breast cancer survivors and supporting those currently battling the disease.

Among the attendees was Rhonda Benson, a breast cancer survivor, who shared her joy and gratitude at this year’s event, stating, “I have hair this year!” Rhonda was joined by 16 family members and friends, showing solidarity in her fight against cancer and highlighting the importance of community support. “These people have been with me every step of the way,” she remarked.

Breast cancer survivor Christina Ward, who had her own battle in 2018, also participated to honor survivors and remember those lost to the disease. “We can all come together and help fight this horrible disease,” she said. The event not only celebrated those who have triumphed but also provided a platform for friends and family to show their unwavering support.

Lisa Moore, another survivor at the stroll, expressed her appreciation for the event, noting the positive energy and camaraderie among attendees. “It’s amazing to meet fellow survivors and those who are supporting them,” she said, emphasizing the significance of community unity in the face of such a challenging health issue.

Participants had the added opportunity to visit the Saint Alphonsus mammography bus, where early detection services were offered, underscoring the event’s focus on awareness and prevention. As attendees celebrated resilience and hope, the Flock Cancer Street Stroll served as a poignant reminder of the collective strength in the fight against breast cancer.
