Idaho Falls Public Library Launches Drive-Thru Pickup Service
IDAHO FALLS – The Idaho Falls Public Library (IFPL) is thrilled to introduce its new drive-thru pickup service, officially commencing on Monday, May 12. The launch was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by city officials and members of the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce.
Library Director Robert Wright expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “The IFPL drive-thru is another step in making library services more convenient and accessible for the community.” The drive-thru service, located on the east side of the library near the book drop, allows patrons to collect library materials without leaving their vehicles.
Available to all library cardholders—both residents of Idaho Falls and non-residents with a membership—this service enhances convenience for users with busy lifestyles or families. To utilize the drive-thru, patrons can log into their library accounts to place holds, call the library directly, or request same-day pickup of curated children’s book bags.
Items, excluding children’s book bags, will generally be ready for pickup two business days after a request. Verification at the drive-thru window requires a driver’s license, with the entire pickup process expected to take just a minute or two.
Library staff emphasized their commitment to making access to literature and learning easier, declaring, “Whether you’re on a busy schedule or have kids in the car, the drive-thru is for you.”
The Idaho Falls Public Library operates Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. For further details, patrons can visit the library’s website or call (208) 612-8460.
