Idaho Falls Chukars Dominate Grand Junction Jackalopes in 18-1 Blowout
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Idaho Falls Chukars extended their winning streak to two games on Tuesday night with a commanding 18-1 victory over the Grand Junction Jackalopes. This marked the fourth consecutive game in which the Chukars have scored double digits.
Starting pitcher Gary Grosjean delivered a stellar performance, going seven innings and allowing just five hits and one run. Grosjean (W, 3-0) tallied four strikeouts and did not walk a batter, lowering his ERA to 4.50. His impressive outing provided much-needed rest for the Chukars’ bullpen.
The offensive explosion featured contributions from nearly every player in the lineup, with eight out of nine batters recording at least one hit. Tyler Wyatt led the charge with a game-high four hits, while both Wyatt and teammate Spencer Rich drove in four runs apiece. Garret Ostrander also made headlines by scoring five runs. Adding to the excitement, both Wyatt and Rich hit home runs during the game.
On the opposing side, Jackalopes pitcher Zach Zaborowski (L, 1-2) struggled, allowing five runs over his five innings on the mound.
With their record now at 10-3, the Chukars are solidifying their position in the Pacific Baseball League standings, currently ranking second behind the Rocky Mountain Vibes (11-1). The Jackalopes, with a record of 3-10, will look to bounce back in the upcoming rematch on Wednesday, scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
