Bonneville Bees Triumph in 5A Baseball State Championships
IDAHO FALLS — The Bonneville Bees faced a challenging road in the 5A Baseball State Championships, suffering an initial loss to Twin Falls that necessitated three wins in a single day to secure the title. Rising to the occasion, the Bees delivered a stunning performance, going 3-0 on Championship Saturday, led by senior Greyson Martin, who played a pivotal role in their victory and was ultimately named Tournament MVP.
Martin had an outstanding tournament, finishing with an impressive .667 batting average, going 10-for-15 at the plate, along with seven walks, two doubles, and contributing seven runs, three RBIs, and two stolen bases throughout the event. His all-around excellence was a key factor in Bonneville’s success and their ability to capture the championship banner and blue trophy.
In recognition of their stellar performances, six players from the Bees were selected for the IdahoSports.com 5A Baseball All-Tournament Team. Joining Martin as All-Tournament honorees were pitchers Carter Bowen and Jackson Ropp, along with hitters and fielders Jadon Cervantes, Coltan Spagnuolo, and Lincoln Stallings, showcasing the depth of talent within the Bonneville squad.
Also recognized on the All-Tournament Team were players from other schools, including Ledger Downs from Skyview and several athletes from Twin Falls: Jordan Bingham, Nolan Lehew, and Ryker Rex. Additionally, Noah Delgado and Baren Vadapalli from Vallivue made the list, reflecting the competitive spirit of the tournament.
