Rexburg, ID – Showcase Interiors Flooring America is marking a significant milestone as it celebrates 50 years of serving the eastern Idaho community. Founded by Blair Rigby in 1975, the business, located at 1373 South Railroad Avenue, has evolved from a small flooring operation into a versatile provider of carpet, hard flooring installations, window coverings, and cabinetry.
At just 20 years old, Rigby teamed up with his brother-in-law, Douglas Garner, to purchase the struggling business shortly before embarking on a two-year mission to Italy. Their partnership faced a defining challenge when the Teton Dam broke in 1976, flooding their warehouse and washing much of their inventory away. At that moment, the demand for flooring surged, allowing Showcase Interiors to gain a foothold in the market.
Rigby transitioned into sole ownership after three years and ultimately sold the business in 2020 to Patrick Bjornn, who began his career at Showcase as a warehouse manager. Together, they have cultivated a highly regarded reputation in Rexburg, with Rigby stating, “I couldn’t have asked for a better situation,” reflecting on their friendship and mentorship.
Under Bjornn’s stewardship, Showcase Interiors continues the legacy established by Rigby, focusing on customer service and community relationships. As Rigby enjoys retirement and plans further travel, he cherishes the connections made throughout his career, declaring, “It’s been a good life.”
