Update: Idaho Falls Police Investigate Domestic Disturbance Resulting in Death
Idaho Falls, ID — The Idaho Falls Police Department (IFPD) is investigating a domestic disturbance that led to the death of an adult male early this morning, June 7. Police responded to a residence at the corner of South Lee Avenue and 7th Street just before 7 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the male victim, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital but was declared dead shortly thereafter.
According to IFPD, all individuals involved in the incident have been cooperative with the ongoing investigation, though no arrests have been made at this time. Officials have stated they believe this was an isolated incident, assuring the public that there is no ongoing danger to the community.
Throughout the day, detectives have been on the scene conducting interviews and collecting evidence. A section of South Lee Avenue, between 7th and 8th Streets, was temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation; however, it has since been reopened to traffic.
Witnesses reported seeing police vehicles and described a distraught woman speaking with officers at the scene.
