Press Release: Rexburg Pride Inc. Announces Fifth Annual Pride Event
REXBURG, ID – Rexburg Pride, Inc. is excited to announce its fifth annual Rexburg Pride event, slated for June 21 at Porter Park. The free celebration will run from 3 to 8 p.m. and promises a variety of activities including local performances, food, vendors, community art projects, and a family-friendly unity walk.
"We aim to build relationships and foster a sense of community," stated Activity Director Lorene Nance. "Rexburg is known as ‘America’s Family Community,’ and we’re thrilled to create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone can feel celebrated." The event consistently draws between 1,000 to 1,500 attendees yearly, and organizers have collaborated with city officials and Griffin Elite Security to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
This year’s event is hosted by Namaste Nook, which stepped in after Flourish Point, Inc. decided to redirect its resources towards smaller mental health support groups following significant funding cuts. "It’s vital for our community to feel accepted and loved," remarked co-owner Jayenna Wild.
Rexburg Pride aims not only to celebrate but also to connect LGBTQ+ individuals and families to essential resources, educate attendees, and encourage allies to show support. "Pride is a celebration and an opportunity—to connect, to educate, and to build community," said Pride Director Annalisa Waite.
