BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The much-anticipated State Street Food Truck Lot will officially open its doors on Friday, June 13, at 3508 W. State St., near the intersection of State and 36th. The grand opening promises a vibrant atmosphere with a lineup of rotating food trucks and live music throughout the day.
This new venue marks the second permanent food truck lot in Boise, addressing a common challenge faced by food truck operators: finding reliable places to park and informing customers about their locations and operating hours. Tim Rogan, president of the Idaho Food Truck Association, emphasizes the lot’s significance, stating that it offers food truck owners the flexibility to rent spots for a day to a month, ensuring a consistent presence for their businesses.
Local food truck owners express optimism about the potential impact of the lot on their operations. Edward Aguirre, owner of Pop’s Treasure Valley Taqueria, noted that high foot traffic could be vital for their survival, while Tyler Anzalone, owner of Anzalone Pizza, referred to the lot as a "pop-up shop scenario," where vendors can effectively market their products and enhance brand visibility.
The lot will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., providing plenty of options for food enthusiasts in the area.
