Mark Bonnar Reveals Tensions Among Actors in Upcoming Celebrity Traitors
Celebrity Traitors contestant Mark Bonnar has opened up about the unique challenges faced by actors in the upcoming series of the BBC One show, set to air this autumn. Speaking on This Morning on June 13, Bonnar revealed that he and his fellow actors had to work especially hard to convince their fellow contestants that they were “Faithfuls,” as suspicions ran high during the tense roundtable discussions.
The star of popular shows such as Line of Duty and Guilt shared that his experience playing gritty, often duplicitous characters may have worked against him in the game. “I guess I play a lot of characters who are hiding something or broken,” Bonnar admitted, adding that the inherent distrust of actors heightened the intensity of the competition.
When asked by host Alison Hammond if he would prefer to be a Traitor or a Faithful, Bonnar tactfully refrained from choosing a side, highlighting the merits of both roles. Discussions around the table examined whether being an actor is an advantage in the trust-based challenges of the show, leading to some spirited debates among the contestants.
The cast includes a diverse group of famous faces such as comedian Alan Carr, singer Paloma Faith, and Olympian Tom Daley, all competing for a potential £100,000 jackpot for charity. Bonnar emphasized the mental strain of the show, noting the lack of outside communication and the constant need to strategize.
With the show’s airing fast approaching, fans eagerly await the drama and alliances that will unfold in the Scottish castle. Tune in to Celebrity Traitors this autumn on BBC One.
