Miss Idaho for America Strong Initiates Cultural Festival to Celebrate Diversity

BOISE, Idaho — Nara Lee, the reigning Miss Idaho for America Strong, is set to launch a vibrant festival aimed at recognizing and celebrating cultural diversity within the Gem State. Lee, who won her title in April, is keen to represent Idaho on a national platform this coming August.

With a deep commitment to unity, education, and honoring cultural backgrounds, Lee’s mission is inspired by her son, Jordan. "I wanted to instill values of kindness and respect in him, and that inspired me to share my platform focused on culture and diversity with the community," she stated in an interview with KTVB.

The festival, dubbed “We Are Idaho,” is designed to showcase the diverse traditions and narratives of Idaho’s growing multicultural population. “I wanted to capture each Idahoan’s story, celebrating their authentic selves and their unique cultures,” Lee explained. This initiative has garnered support from local businesses, reflecting a shared vision of community and inclusivity.

Sponsors like Lisa Ball, owner of Fantasy Wedding or Events, commend Lee’s educational approach: "It’s about learning and building bridges between people." Tyler Bush, owner of Whippersnappers, added, "Bringing together various cultures in Idaho is a bold and necessary move."

“We Are Idaho” serves not only as a celebration but also as a fundraiser to support Lee’s journey to the Miss America for Strong competition. Lee, who experienced apprehension upon first moving to Idaho, found solace in the community’s warm welcome and aims to uplift Idaho pride during her national competition.

“I feel I’ve already won by receiving so much love and support from my community,” she remarked about her upcoming endeavor, emphasizing the importance of celebrating everyone’s unique contributions.
